Waste management
Johkula's waste management is run by the municipal recycling centre at Teollisuustie 4, open Tue 12–18, Thu 12–18 and Sat 10–14. Mixed waste, bio-waste, cardboard, glass, metal and plastic from households are accepted free of charge. Hazardous waste such as paint and batteries has its own collection point.
Summer residents have eco points at the village, Koskikylä and Niemenkärki road junctions, emptied twice a week in June–August.
Water services
Johkula waterworks supplies the village, Koskikylä and the Johku Resort area. Tap water comes from groundwater at the foot of Johku Fell and is tested monthly.
Report your water meter reading once a year in January. Water costs €1.10/m³ and wastewater €1.60/m³.
