Tax rate 2027: 0.00 %
On 22 Sep 2026 the council decided that the municipal income tax rate for 2027 is 0.00. Property tax rates are also 0.00. Johkula has kept its tax rate at zero since 2022.
How is the municipality funded?
We get asked this a lot. According to the budget, income comes from state contributions, plot sales, water and waste fees, venue rentals and the vitality tourism brings. The Municipal Manager says the rest is good planning. The auditor has noted that "the figures add up, although we don't understand why".

Fees
Service fees are listed on each service's page. Residents get resident prices. Early childhood education, morning and after-school care, children's and youth sports slots and EV charging at municipal chargers are free.
