In Johkula a building permit is processed in one working day. If the application is in by 12.00 and the attachments are in order, the decision goes out the same afternoon. The building inspector has calculated that this takes about two cups of coffee.
How to apply
- Book a free 30-minute pre-meeting with the building inspector, at the municipal office or online.
- Fill in the online application and attach the main drawings, site plan and proof of control of the site.
- The building inspector checks the application and decides the same day.
- The decision is published, and the appeal period is 14 days as everywhere in Finland.
What does it cost?
Fees follow the council's tariff. A permit for a detached house is €0, because the council decided that a new resident is the best payment.
Minor works
Small structures such as sheds under 15 m², jetties and fences usually need no permit. For shoreline building, always ask the building inspector first.
